Tickets on sale NOW for Round 1 F3 Derby and all Mariners home matches at Central Coast Stadium this season

The F3 Derby is the longest standing derby in the A-League . . . and it’s on sale now in the countdown to the Mariners’ season opener at Central Coast Stadium on Saturday 8 October.

Mariners v Jets (5pm kick-off) will be a feature game of the opening round of the 2022/23 Isuzu Ute A-League men’s competition.

The clash with the neighbouring Newcastle Jets on a Saturday evening will ensure a bumper first-round crowd at home.

The great Mariners-Jets rivalry stems from their geographical proximity, with the Mariners the pride of the Central Coast and the Jets with the pulling power of the Hunter region.

Years ago everyone on the Coast and in the Hunter knew of the F3 Pacific Motorway as the link between the two regions. That highway connection may have been renamed the M1 but the F3 Derby’s history was such that the name has stuck for football supporters.

Excitement is building fast for the season ahead, with the Mariners also playing key home games at Central Coast Stadium against NSW rivals Macarthur Bulls (3pm, Sunday 13 November), a second Derby against the Jets (Sunday 11 December) and then Sydney FC (5pm, Saturday 17 December) prior to Christmas.

A huge New Year’s Eve game against Melbourne Victory is slated for Round 10, with kick-off time to be confirmed.

Head Coach Nick Montgomery is building an exciting squad with a nice mix of youth and experience.

Much interest will focus on Mariners teen sensation Garang Kuol who was simply amazing coming off the bench for the A-Leagues All Stars against La Liga giants FC Barcelona in a glamour friendly at Sydney’s Accor Stadium in May.

Kuol, 17, has generated interest from global giants FC Barcelona and Chelsea, among a dozen clubs, according to informed sources.

For now, Kuol is a Mariner and completely focused on the upcoming season where he will be one of a number of gun attacking players on the Coast.

The countdown is well and truly on to the new Isuzu Ute A-League men’s competition kick-off.
